Theaanna Kiaos is an organisational anthropologist, specialising in organisational culture and diversity. Her qualifications are in Psychology, Communications and Change Management. Since becoming a Change Management Consultant, Theaanna has focused on completing her Ph.D. in Management through the Macquarie Graduate School of Management. Her Ph.D. methodology of specialisation is ethnography.
Through her extensive consulting work, Theaanna has witnessed and addressed the problems that arise when diversity initiatives are developed in isolation, without the necessary analysis of an organisation’s existing culture that underpins long-term solutions.
Theaanna’s previous research has included the development of an analytic framework and process that identifies organisational issues and gaps. Using her unique combination of skills and her understanding of the complexity associated with diversity and inclusive cultural change, she is thus able to offer insights and strategic directions that guide organisations in their journey of building competitive advantage through a diverse and inclusive culture. Theaanna has collaborated widely, developing strong relationships with many companies.
Theaanna has been a sought-after and successful speaker at numerous diversity and inclusion conferences. She has been interviewed on SBS News on the topic: “Most Australian workplaces are failing to achieve diversity”; she has also been interviewed as a subject matter expert by SBS Life, Shortlist and Women's Agenda.
